CBBQA Fund Raising Efforts

As of 01/05/2011

ANOTHER RECORD YEAR FOR CBBQA FUND RAISING!

The great members of the California BBQ Association have done it again.

We work year long raising funds for numerous California Children's Charities.

Our non profit group hands over thousands each year. We surpassed the 2009

record of 58k with a 2010 amount of of over 70k and still growing as new totals

are still pending.

We conduct BBQ classes, help charities sell BBQ at events, and lend a

hand whenever we can to help fund so many Children's charities statewide.

The CBBQA also supports many other charities that are not listed here including

but not limited to Troop charities.

Antelope Valley Blazing BBQ Competition, Lancaster, CA

October 17-18, 2014

Grand Champion: KNOCK UR SOX OFF BBQ

Reserve Champion: ALL HOGS GO TO HEAVEN

The Antelope Valley Fairgrounds were host to the 2014 Blazing BBQ Competition. Twenty-nine teams nestled in RV sites with individual hookups for water, electricity and grey water dump sites. The weather was warm and breezy during the day with lows in the upper 50’s at night. A very nice weekend for a competition.

This was the last KCBS Sanctioned BBQ competition for 2014 in California with Kelly and Kathleen McIntosh as the KCBS representatives.

Camera crews were very busy taping footage for a Diva Q BBQ Crawl episode. Steve Botkin of Desperado BBQ, Donna Fong of Butcher’s Daughter and Sylvie Curry of Lady of Q enjoyed some camera activity for the episode. It will be exciting to see what footage ultimately survives the final cut.

The awards ceremony was kicked off with Kelly McIntosh announcing that this would be probably the highest total score event for California with greater than 700 points and with multiple 180 scores. Daniel Dimovski of Diva Q received the first 180 of the evening in desserts followed by Benny Adauto of Funtime BBQ with a 180 in chicken and Ryan and Kim Moore with a 180 in pork. With four top five calls of 4th chicken, 2nd ribs, 1st pork and a 2nd in brisket, it was pretty clear that Knock Your Socks Off was the Grand Champion with a total score of 709.68. That’s something to be very proud of.
