011011AA.png

As of 01/05/2011

ANOTHER RECORD YEAR FOR CBBQA FUND RAISING!

The great members of the California BBQ Association have done it again.

We work year long raising funds for numerous California Children's Charities.

Our non profit group hands over thousands each year. We surpassed the 2009

record of 58k with a 2010 amount of of over 70k and still growing as new totals

are still pending.

We conduct BBQ classes, help charities sell BBQ at events, and lend a

hand whenever we can to help fund so many Children's charities statewide.

The CBBQA also supports many other charities that are not listed here including

but not limited to Troop charities.

BBQ 101 Class

On Saturday August 16, 2014, I had the honor and privilege to assist our membership in putting on a BBQ 101 class, which was facilitated by our board member and webmaster, Tim Wong, and Renea & Patty from the Woodshed.

Our instructors Jerry, Lupe and Alyssa Aguilar, Steve Wilson, Andy Soto, Chris Visconti, Ed, Williams, Marissa, Ben, Rob and Bryan Rice, Maryann and Bob Bass as well as Todd and Beverly Carpenter to name a few did an outstanding job presenting some basic BBQ dishes to the 30 plus students in attendance on Saturday.

Our students were taught the basics of fire management on several different types of cookers. They were also given a wide array of dishes to learn to prepare such as ABTs, Baked beans, beer can chicken, pig candy Moink balls, peach cobbler, ribs and twice smoked ham to name a few of the phenomenal dishes prepared by our instructors.

As the president of our organization, I am not sure if, I have ever been more proud. To see the passion and enthusiasm transferred from our members to the students was clearly a shining moment in my tenure. We truly are fulfilling our mission of educating and promoting the art form we call BBQ and raising funds for our chosen children charities.

I applaud our efforts as an organization and again, I could not be more proud.
