IMPORTANT NOTES

Whatever you bring in, please take it out with you. Bring trash bags!!!

UPDATE: The "Sluggish Lugs" have generously offered to provide a keg of Coors Light beer. Although they have offered this as a sacrifice to the BBQ gods, I think it would be nice to have a contribution jar by the keg. Additional info., The Sluggish Lugs have requested that any $$$ collected for the beer be donated to a local charity. Easter is 2 weeks away and with the bad economy, there's going to be lots of families that will be doing without. Maybe we can help a few. WOW!!! BBQ'rs are the best!

If you wish to drink something other then beer???,would like to drink a different beer, or have a preference for some other libation, please bring your own. Recycling containers will be set up.

Bottled water will be available.

Bring your own ice.

It is nice to have munchies throughout the day. Some cookers like to throw a few non-comp. items to pass around. Give this some thought.

This is a kid friendly and family event.

Decision of the judges are final, unless you have a really good bribe, then see Ric.

If you have a few extra logs to contribute to the fire pit, please feel free to contribute.

Bring your own chairs.

Could someone please bring an extra table or two?

My live music cancelled last night, so if you want to hear something other then The Greatful Dead, bring CD's.

A Safeway store is located 3-4 minutes from my house.

JUDGING

This is going to be interesting but we think we can pull it off. Teams will be divided into two groups, group A and Group B. As will be the judges. Turn-in times are listed above. Your firt turn-in (chicken) will be scored by one set of judges, while your second turn-in ( Tri-Tip) will be judged by the second set of judges. You will rotate from table to table being judged twice by each judging team.

Judging and scoring standards will be KCBS format.

If you wish the judges to provide an ICBA score, not counted in this comp., you may provide a seperate entry in IBCA format. But only one entry, one time only.

Chicken and ribs are garnish optional as per KCBS rules.

Tri Tip & mystery meat can be garnished anyway you wish. Be creative. Bring your own serving/presentation plate or you may use a styro clamshell. Presentation goes a long way here!

You may trim & marinate your meats the night before. Think of this like a real comp. Do what you would normally do to prep. your meat on a Friday night.

Where

San Jose, CA

PM, will be sent to all participants with address & phone #.
