The Vendors gate we will use for entry is across the street from 50350 Monroe St Indio 92201

Parking

Each team will get one Vendor lot Parking Pass

This is very close to the competition

Judges and Workers will arrive early so the Public lots will empty at that time

Teams will be able to move their cars close in the early AM when the lots are empty

Directions

These are directions that will take you past stores that may be of value over the weekend I10 exit Monroe takes you through Indio but no stores on that route

From the West Buy Fuel if needed in Thousand Palms at Flying J

Exit I10 at Washington turn right

pass the location for the Palm Desert Cook Off

travel south to HWY 111 turn left

pass Wal Mart Sams and Costco

Turn Right on Jefferson travel south

Turn Left at Ave 48 head east

At Monroe turn Right one block ahead is 50 350 Monroe

From the East

Exit I10 at Dillon near the Truck stops (best Fuel prices) Turn left on Dillon

Take Dillon West at railroad tracks it becomes Ave 48 take Ave 48 to Jackson then turn Left

At Ave 50 Turn Right

Next major street is Monroe turn Left

50 350 is a short way south on Monroe

Competition Teams,

Event Workers

and BBQ Judges will pick up tickets at

50350 Monroe St. This can be done on Thursday to avoid the Friday crowds for workers

Bill Emery (Brother Bills BBQ) will be there with the ticket list and directions for entry to the Festival Grounds Sat Map above

Bill will be on location Thursday all day , Friday AM, Saturday AM and Sunday AM

We use 3 day Vendor Wrist Bands If you need to change out users remember once sinched down these bands do not back off Use a zip strip to hold them on for exchangers

will be on site all three days

Friday 3 to 6 PM

Sat and Sun 11 to 5 PM

The BBQ Competition is in the NE corner of the Polo Grounds

Judges Check in on Saturday and Sunday is 930 AM each day

Note the Crowd is small (a few thousand) early and grows rapidly after 2 or 3 depending on the weather

Peoples Choice from 11 AM to 5 PM or when product runs out

PC samples will be 2 oz of any of the four meats in a 3 oz cup

Stagecoach will provide the cups

Teams will cash in the printed tickets they receive in exchange for samples for $1.00 each ticket

Separate Peoples Choice Vote tickets will be presented by teams, tabulated and winners declared

Eight Tickets if you cook all three contests

ICE will be sold from the ICE House in our area

$10 CASH for a 40 pound bag

A Wagon or Hand Truck is advised

All Teams will make money doing Peoples Choice sales Our County has a simple plan to follow to make this possible

1. Meat Prep done in a controlled environment a RV or a $39 Screen Room tent works
2. Plastic Sheeting or Tarp Ground Cover In Prep and Serving Areas
3. Three Sinks can be those large Bus Tubs
4. Raw meat on Ice below 41 degrees
5. Cooked Meat above 140
6. Serve from smoker or grill or from half pan off table meat wont have time to cool or buy a simple chaffing dish
7. A hand Wash Station as simple as a water jug with soapy water inside and a bucket below to catch
8. Sanitizer Spray and Wipes ( a cap full of bleach in a water spay bottle)
