The International Dutch Oven Scociety has a good web-site: www.idos.com with an events page, and links to chapters all over the US.
For those in So. Cal., go to www.socaldos.org
They do about 4 events a year called DOG's (Dutch Oven Gatherings).
You can also check out a character named Cee Dub at www.ceedubs.com . He just moved from Idaho to Texas. He puts on several classes a year, and has written several books.
I took a class from Johnny Nix. He's no longer involved in the classes, but their web-site has lots of info. on cooking over an open fire and Dutch Oven cooking with wood. Their web-site is www.campfirecafe.com . I bought the "Cowboy Cookset" with swing grill. It's a kick to cook on.
Another good web-site is www.dutchovenpro.com

If anyone has any questions about dutch oven cooking please email me. I cook every day in dutch ovens and cater with a chuck wagon-a smoker and many dutch ovens. We have a restaurant in Oroville called Chuck Wagon BBQ Company and stay very busy, so we are not usually involved in competition cooking.

Pete, Let me rephrase that. I would like to see pictures of the dutch ovens on your egg. Don't need to see the rest.

Not sure how many pictures were taken, but from the sounds hungry hoards devouring the food I'd say the Dutch Oven Egg show was a big hit at the Bay.
