Thanks for the feedback Bill. Most of the information needed is on our applications, but I will re-post on the Wiki.
This will be our 3rd Annual Smokin' for Gold, with Whole Foods helping out with sponsorship. The event will be on the Main Lawn, (same location as the last competition). All teams have access to commercial kitchen, turn in is close to where teams are setting up. We have plenty of parking, though 'extra' vehicles will not be parked next to set up. We love the camps the teams set up, we will be adding some fun little competitions for this event as it gets closer.
It is extremely helpful and makes set up go easier if when teams turn in their apps, they include any electrical requirements, or any other special requirements so that we can do our best to accommodate.
We will post the pay out schedule very soon, however the pot will be increasing to $5,000, thanks to Whole Foods of Folsom. Hurry and take advantage of Early Sign up.

Hi everyone! We are so excited that Whole Foods Market has joined us as a sponsor. So now we will be able to offer $5000!!! in prize money. Our page will be updated soon to reflect this and I will have a revised application that shows this change. Ben is helping us with a problem on our page so hopefully we will be back up and running soon.
As usual if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Marta at 530-919-1587. Hope to see you all in September!

Don't miss out on early bird savings - send in your app now.
If you haven't had the pleasure of participating in a competition at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville, you need to check it out! It's a great setting, and we LOVE our BBQ in El Dorado County!
We have room for at least 30 teams on the lawn - and another 25 under cover next to the lawn.
In conjunction with the BBQ competition - we will be having our first Annual BrewFest - and a great car show AND music.
Let's get those apps in!

Hi Richard - Yes real grass! This hot weather has made it a little drier in some spots, but it is grass! Also the barn is an area that has a metal, skylighted roof and the ground is covered with rubber mats. Teams have cooked there before and enjoyed it. I hope that you can join us!
