Thanks Thom, much appreciated.

Yes, our GC will be in the California draw next year provided we get 15 teams which I don't see as a problem.

The BCS (Barbeque Championship Series) Sanctioning body just completed our first full year of sanctioning events. We did 4 of the big 4 meat events & 8 smaller one or two meat events.

The Grand Champion of our very first sanctioned event won the Jack Draw for Arizona last year, so we were pretty excited & happy about that. We are hopeful to have more BCS GC's win some Jack Draws this year.

We look forward to seeing everyone out there. It's a great venue, During Spring Break Week, right on the River, Nice Prize fund, Very reasonable entry fees and just a great event.

Could you explain the whole BCS process?
Similar to what California cooks know now?
Who would be judging this event?
When does the early bird end?
Feb 15 or Feb 1?

Thanks Thom for the questions.

The BCS from a competitor's standpoint is very similar to the other sanctioning bodies. The only significant difference is that you an use any green leafy vegetable for garnish. Scoring also goes from 1 - 10.

We use Certified BCS & KCBS Judges for our events as they are very similar.

The early bird registration has been extended to February 15th, so get your entries in before then & save $75.

Just $200 until February 15th and this includes one 40' RV Spot with full hookups..

Hope to see lots of our California BBQ Family out at this event.

Just a week left on the Early Bird Entry discount. Just $200 to enter, $7500 in prize fund plus full RV Hook-ups.. Just need a few more teams to make it a qualifier.

Hope to see more teams from CA at this event.

Hello Everyone,

I am the manager at the Havasu Landing Resort Campground which is hosting this event.
I wanted to invite everyone to this event. We are expecting this to be a great event for our first year, we are offering $7500 in prize money and I am working to add more money for the PC award as well. Our campground is located right along the shore line of Lake Havasu, we also have a Casino within the Resort as well. Mike has done a good job keeping the entry fee very low and I am offering disounted rates of $20.00 per night in our campground to anyone who wants to come in early or stay later than the two nights that are included in the entry fee. If you have any questions about our park you can check out our web site www.havasulanding.com or you can e-mail me directly at jsullivan@havasulanding.com.

James

Hey all, we are going to extend the Early Bird Pricing to Monday to cover the comps this weekend. We are almost at enough teams for it to be a qualifier. If you have not yet signed up, get your registration in. Just $200 until Monday for a $7500 prize fund. Right now, we only have 1 team coming from California. This event is in California, so it would be great to see some more of you signing up.

We are going to put out another State vs. State challenge like we did this past year at a few of our events. If a State has a minimum of 5 teams competing, they will be included in the Challenge.

The State who's top 5 teams score the most cumulative Overall Points will split $500. That's $100 per team. So, if you get in on the Early Bird, place in the Top 5 & get drawn for the incentive, this event could be just $50 for you to compete at. Not too bad.

Hope to see lots of you sign up, it would be great to see a lot of you again.

Thom, we strive to have 100% CBJ's. They can be CBJ's from any of the Santioning bodies, KCBS, PWNBA, BCS, etc.

Right now, we have about 20 signed up, so we are 100% CBJ's for now. Hoping to get more teams signed up before Monday's Early Bird Deadline..
