I am looking at coming to Morgan Hill, because it is NOT KCBS.
KCBS is overrated and they no longer offer any reason to be a member if you are not interested in the TOY or Sams Club programs (which I'm not), at least IMHO.

I am looking forward to cooking a PWNBA comp.!

Note to those who see cooking KCBS comps as a way to make it on the national scene.
My advice:Find a sanctioning body you like and can cook well in, and when you GC at a large comp, you will get your national exposure at the AR or Jack. KCBS is no longer the organization it used to be, which is opening up the doors for competing organizations to take some real estate away from KCBS, and I for one couldn't be happier about that.

IMO you can only become a better cook and weather adversity rolling with either sanctioning organization. I'd love to cook an IBCA event sometime and see how it goes.
I know when I was inquiring about the lack of IBCA turn in box pics on another site, someone replied " if your Chicken tastes good leftover, it'll probably you well in IBCA!" I can do that!

I just signed up for the Morgan Hill contest. The link via the PNWBA didn't show a submit button with my browser so I used this one...

https://fireitupeven...plication-2012/

I love this application because it doesn't ask for money up front! I guess someone at the Morgan Hill chamber of commerce will call me or email me eventually? Looking forward to it!

Slap Yo Daddy is headed to Morgan Hill!

BTW, SYD will be hosting a whole hog dinner (not the kind you think, but crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside) for Friday dinner plus lots of other great food.

There will be an announcement then on the worst kept secret about the "War of the Pits" between a NorCal and a SoCal team.

Please email me at harsoo@yahoo.com and let me know how many from your team is coming so I can get the right size hog(s) and enough food so you will eat until you're sleepy. I will also have bottles of champagne on ice to ensure that you snore loudly through the night and forget to tend to your pits!

We love you all and can't think of a better way to celebrate than in the Friday revelry before that Sat heat of competition BBQ!

PS. The only requirement to come is no gifts and no exceptions! If you have some tables we can borrow, that would be great. Please bring your own chairs.

Jason, the date you sign up is the date that counts. Morgan Hill went with a new billing system this year only to find out it delays the process. Anyone who signs up before the early bird date expires will get the discount regardless of when you are billed. This is shaping up to be an interesting field, glad you are coming.
