Calling all teams to the 2nd Annual Smokin for Gold event on October 1! This is a ToY event, just waiting for the logo to be added. Contestant & Judge Applications online or our website www.eldoradocountyfair.org. Looking forward to a great time.

Smokin' for Gold is now officially a ToY event. Get those applications in!

We entered a week or so ago, but I notice the team list has not been updated...hope lots of other folks are in the same boat. This was a very nice event last year...hope they still let us use the hot shower and commercial kitchen!!!!

Heard a rumor this event might be on the chopping block because of lack of participation...that would be a shame. Anybody else hear that? Confirmations? Denials?

David, I spoke with Gina at the fair grounds last week. She stated that the comp was definately a go. Supposedly more teams signed up, like you, that appear on the Wiki page. Keep yer fingers crossed.

Just spoke with Gina at the fair grounds. A couple more confirmations yesterday. Lots of fence sitters. As a team looking forward to this comp, hope to see a lot more teams on the list.

Hey David - yes, there will be the hot shower and commercial kitchen, as well as a grease container. Same location on the fair grounds as last year. Sure hope to see you all there!

Let's go teams! Get off that fence and get your paperwork in!!! This is a great event, fantastic venue.... grass, sunshine, HOT SHOWERS, commercial kitchen, grease pit, great people, activities for the kids (our Sportsman's Expo is happening same time), your kids can try their hand at fly fishing, trout catching, lure tying, archery, while you slave over the hot BBQ! Let's go!!!!!

I am sure some updated information would help some teams to get off that fence. Could we at least get a team count/list?

I believe the list is current. They could use some more support, it would be ashame if this contest went away.

The event has always been a go! Many teams saying they are coming - just have not received paperwork. We have decided to eliminate the late fee for the event as the ToY sanction was a little late. Send in paperwork in and vie for the $3500 in prize money at stake. Any questions - call Marta at 530-919-1587. Hope to see you all there!
