[Tony Presgraves]

Last Thursday was the funeral for one of our Police Officers, who passed away from cancer. During the funeral procession for this officer, a tragic accident occurred. A motorcycle officer from the Hawthorne Police Department, Andrew Garton, who was escorting the funeral procession, was involved in a collision with another motorcycle officer. Andrew Garton was killed instantly as a result of the accident.

Andrew was a good man, a devoted husband and loving father to two boys. I am looking at the possibility of putting together a BBQ fundraiser to raise money for his family. I’ll need help in order to make this a success. I don't have any firm details as of now, for its still up in the air, but if you might be interested in helping out, please drop me an email or PM so I can judge my resources.

Life is short and tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Love your families and live today, as if there were no tomorrow.

There will be fundraiser in Los Alamitos @ US Bank at the corner of Pine and Katella, on THursday, June 9th from 5-9PM. It is a gourmet food truck event, and 10% of the proceeds will go directly to the Garton Family - Everyone is welcome to attend and support. Thanks.
