Here is your chance to have your say on the Stockton WoW BBQ Championship turn in schedule!

What format would you like the contest to use?

Don't forget that PC is big at this contest, so keep that in mind with your choice!

Just for the record/clarification...Ric asked for this poll to be set up. He stated that "we", the teams, get to decide this aspect of the contest. They want to do what the teams want to do, and this is the way to have your say.

This isn't just me setting up a random poll...I just helped by creating the thread on Ric's behalf. I should have mentioned that in the first post.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

However, to keep this fair when you vote we need to know if you are doing PC or not. My guess is the we will have a split decision based on this. We need to find a balance.

Not doing PC, but would like half hour turn ins like a KCBS event.

I voted for a standard PNWBA contest. We (CA) have a history of trying to "bastardize" non-KCBS contests and turn them into KCBS-like contests. Give this new (to us) organization a chance. There is virtually no difference anyway. Remeber, KCBS was not willing to sanction this contests as is. Why try to turn it into one.

As for PC sales, we sold all our extra meat in less than the 1 hr. before the next meat was due for turn-in. We had ample time to work on the following meat. We didn't have to wait until the last turn-in to start selling. All of this in a pouring rain with people everywhere.

I tend to agree with Benny. The differences seem slight...why not give it a chance?

Hi all,

Yes we do the 1 hour turn-ins up here and one of the big reasons why is so we can do sampling BETWEEN each turn in. This gets the public involved with the experience of the BBQ contest. :)

Judges, what are your thoughts on an hourly turn-in schedule vs what we more commonly do?

Just want to give you guys one more factor to think about when deciding if you want 1 hour or 30 min turn ins. We have a great system of providing comment cards to cooks which is possible because we do 1 hour turn-ins. In the 30 min scenario there just is not enough time for judges to complete that information. We have received excellent feedback from our teams, that they have found these comments very useful!

Just some food for thought.

It's time to break the mold! Let's give this new system a try. Change is hard, but usually well worth the effort.
