The closest airport (45 mins) would be Montery (MRY), but flights in and out of there are pretty limited. Next would be San Jose (SJC) which is about an hour. Oakland (OAK) and San Francisco (SFO) would be next at a little over an hour and half travel time.

Congrads to David for KCBS ToY #1 in Ribs!
I think everyone is assuming the Comp. Class will be held no matter how many/few people are signed up, since scheduling time away from home and travel is involved. Is this correct. I am trying to generate additional interest from so cal guys, and hope that we can get a large group for the class. I'll keep doing what I can to spread the word.
Thanks,
Dave Farrell

I'm going to let Smitty jump in on this, I have very little to do with organizing the classes.

Yes, both classes will be conducted.
Competition class will sell out, don't be left out.

Thanks, I won't be left out. If you had checked the registration list, you'd see that I signed up 2 weeks ago. I will continue to try to generate interest among other guys here in so cal, if there is anything else you'd like me to do down here to help, please let me know.
Take care,
Dave F.

Hello David,
I do see everyone who has registered for the class, that is why I suggest that if anyone (not you) is sitting on the fence about attending...don't be left out.
You're going to love the class, enjoy.

I attended the 101 BBQ class last year in Hanford. I really wanted a comp class and was looking forward to this one. I am sure that the instructor is wonderful and well qualified. Unfortunately this comp class has priced me out of the market. I truly want to support the CBBQA and will when I can afford it. So Sorry that I will not be able to attend.
