I saw that it was listed by KCBS as being part of the Kingsford promo. Didn't see any other CA events on the list though. If I remember correctly from last year that means if you cook with Kinsford and display their sign and win prize money, it will be doubled by Kingsford. Is that your understanding too Ben?

Not Ben but I can answer this one. If only it were true. Kingsford did a double your money at the American Royal last year and the year before. To my knowledge that is the only time they do it. In this case, they gave us a bit more money to sweeten the award pool...hooray Kingsford !!!We are very pleased and honored to have been selected as this event is only in it's second year. Morgan Hill is like a bull in a bbq shop.

Hmmm...bummer. I guess I was thinking of the Royal.
So, do you have to sign up for the points chase to be eligible for the extra pot sweetening money, or is it available to all competitors? I don't see many teams from MH competing in many other Kingsford events based on the geography. (I do see Indio listed now though...not sure how I missed that earlier.)

If it's run like it was last year the GC of the contest got 1000.00 extra if they used Kingsford charcoal.

Time for some smiles and excitement.
Last year this little event took everyone by surprise. This year we intend to repeat that success and raise the bar even higher. How, you may ask???
The 2nd annual Morgan Hill No Bull BBQ Championship is pleased to announce;
$10,000 in cash prizes.
$600+ in trophies
75% PC return
This is double the cash pool of last year and provides the highest ( 75% ) PC return in California.
A huge thank you to all the cookers for making this event a success last year, it would not have happened without you. We look forward to seeing you again this year.

15 mins from home, so I should be good. Was hoping to have a small trailer by then, but so far, no luck in finding one.
Adam, you can do your overnight cook Fri, sleep at home and smell the meat from there. With the new Maverick you might even be able to hear the alarm.
