You are a computer genius yet mess up your english. That sentence should have ended with the word "talk". There is no purpose for the word "at". Is that "Smacky " enough for ya????Posted Image

ok so smak tok eh? Well I am building my custom smoker as we speak. and its big enough to smoke my 11 yr old daughter. But regardless, in my p.x. aka walmart special I am willing to challenge anywho or anyone to a brisket cookoff. Anywhere in southern cali (due to my schedule) and almost anytime. I will use my low end smoker "lightly seasoned" and the cheapest brisket you can find.

Name the Place and I will Discuss my schedule in public for anyone. And just so you know it looks like April is my next weekend off. So if anyone is looking to challenge a brisket recipe from "The Alamo" then let me know.

by the way you can email me at cory.rudd@us.army.mil and if your looking up my lineage at the alamo I was semi-adopted you will need to look under the "Grimes" family name.

Cory,

Sign up for a contest and cook.

Best way for you to see just how your Que stacks up against the best of the best in California.

Hesperia is close to you.

Well, the first of many contests for 2010 is now in the books. 155 South starts off the year in the lead after an impressive win at Hesperia, and the rookie team of Wally's Smokin' Pit is leading the rookies with T&J Backyard BBQ not far behind. It's gonna be an exciting year for both the ToY and RoY races with a lot of solid teams vying for the top spots.

The 2010 Team of the Year page can be found here: Team of the Year 2010

Let me know if anyone has any questions.

The ToY page has been updated and Dangerous Dave from All Sauced Up has taken the lead with his GC @ Stagecoach. Smokin' Yankees are hot on his heels in second place. Well done folks!

Thanks John, I've been watching that page to see what happened because of this last weekend.

ToY result have been updated. Morgan Hill definitely shook things up in the middle of the pack but up at the top, the solid team of Smokin' Yankees has moved into the number 1 spot overall and top 3 in each individual category. Watch out for them, if they continue on this pace and finish the season as well as they've started they're gonna be unstoppable. Well done Yankees!

Morgan Hill also brought some rookies out of the shadows and into the spotlight. Two rookie teams, Big Bad BBQ and Crazy Q competed for the first time and their 4th and 8th place overall finishes have put them into the top 10 overall. Time will tell if it was a one time occurrence or if these guys are teams to be reckoned with :frantics:.

New results are up and with a solid finish at Bakersfield, Smokin' Yankees maintain the #1 position.

Well done to Crazy Q who has retaken the top spot for the rookies, but watch out for the newest rookie team, Left Coast Q. They are coming to shake up this race.

I am currently in the process of migrating the ToY management over to a new system that will help automate and better manage the contest results. I'm hoping to have this done soon and the latest standings posted over the next few days. Sorry for the delay, I'll keep everyone updated if there are any additional delays caused by this transition.

Thanks Vince, I'm having a great time doing it and am excited to have the first version of the new ToY database and management system up and running. As I'm sure you can attest to, the wonderful growth we're having in CA comp bbq has outgrown the previous ToY mgmt system and created the need for something more robust.

I'm hoping to have a working version done by the end of day today and the current results posted.

I can't wait to see this project "go to the next level".

You are doing a very impressive job John, we are lucky to have you volunteer your time to this vital position within the Association.

We do have great members in the CBBQA.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to get done what I needed so that I could post the current standings before I left for this weekend's contest. I am very close so the updated results will be available early next week.

I apologize to those who've been waiting to see where they stand after last weekend. I will have a link available on the ToY Standings page that will allow you to see what the standings were after a particular contest, so you will be able to view this week's rankings.
