Just signed up. Can we get an idea of start/end times for planning travel?

(BTW for the record, I also took a class this summer from a CBBQA member which was not sanctioned by the CBBQA. Just proving that one didn't take away business from another.)

Just wanted to remind every one that this class is a fundraiser for CBBQA ,so the Board of Directors can get pensions (They are going to need it), Larry can take BBQ1 to New York and collect the Lobels Pork prize! LOL ---Really looking forward to this class,we will have some fun!. Those of you that are new- this is a chance to jump start your cooking( I say you will gain at least 2 years of cooking knowledge that you might get through trail and error--it will be cheaper to take the class) and those of you that have been thinking about cooking this is the time to jump in. Not only will you learn from people that have been there and done that, we will make sure you will be able to compete with some real confidence in your BBQ.These classes are not about -Hey, cook like us!-- not at all---This will help you to adapt your bbq to a variety of methods and tips, pointers and things will begin to make sense like never before. I think if you ask around on this forum you will find these classes are more than helpful . The classes will enlighten you to find your way to your Grand Championship. You will be in the company of the best BBQers in the State( students here will be among the top in the State and Grand Champions as well and you can pick their brains--not always much left-LOL) and you will able to bend everyones ear about bbq because unlike every other place on the planet we love to talk BBQ. No more thinking about -get it confirmed- sign up now-Because a Grand Champion can not be indecisive ( there you got your first tip free) see you there- Brent/QN4U

Well said Brent, I know that like the other HOF instructors, I have given this class a lot of thought. I have been asked by a few participants, and some still on the fence, about how much am I REALLYy going to give up in terms of "Insider information." My response to this is "as much as you want to learn."

Ric are you really teaching ribs? Really?

I'm thinking you are hardly qualified, seeing as you were Team of the Year in Chicken.

In the last 3 contests under your lead, your team Ric's Righteous Ribs placed.....

2007 Smokin' in the Park, Viejas (KCBS) - 1st in Ribs, 6th Overall

2009 Smokin' in the Oaks, Penn Valley (IBCA) - Grand Champion

2009 American Royal Open, Kansas City, MO (KCBS) - 14th in Ribs out of 486 teams

...oh wait, you taught chicken at the last class.

Ben, you are the best at tounge and cheek humor!

Come on folks let's get signed up. There has NEVER been a class like this offered before. I wish Ihad the opportunity 10 years ago when I first started in comps.

Still laughing.

When is the closing date or max attendees for this event? I am really thinking about this one. Its a long way away but sounds great. Do I have to book an entire cabin for one night by myself or can I get some shut eye in my truck? Can we stay up with the cooks on Friday night?

There are 2 RV sites left for the class
The cabins are gone
As for sleeping in the Truck you would need to ask the RV park about their policy

I am thinking of attending the class. How strict is the spouse requirement? My teammate/ father in law may also want to attend. Is it possible to get the 2nd person at the spouse rate?

Michael I am sorry The class is already at a discounted rate
In the past CBBQA classes have been at much higher rate
Remember the proceeds are going to children's charities
The Hall of Fame Members are not getting paid to run this class

My teammate and I are now signed up and rv site is booked! We are real excited about the class and can't wait to learn and hangout...

I do not know if we are the reserved section of the rvs or not. I told them why we were coming and all but if we aren't, is this a problem?

I heard mention of a pot-luck, are we doing this?

Is there anything else we need to bring or make sure we have with us?

This is our first time to anything like this and wanna get broken in right!

Thanx-Dave
