I had planned all along to do this event, I just didn't plan on it being my first of the year

Thanks to a couple of bad feet that require surgery, I'll be out of commission until then.

No Palm Desert, No Stagecoach, No Bueno.............

Sorry to hear Glen. Get well and take care of yourself and family. We'll be honorary PETA members on your behalf. Would love to see you at a contest hopefully soon.

Any details on how the "$5,000 in cash, prizes and awards" will be broken out?

Thanks Ben. Maybe Kelleigh or Kelly or Gene or Merl can answer this additional question: the judge's form for this event says that CBJ's MUST bring his/her KCBS membership card in order to judge.

I am a CBJ. I re-upped in Dec with KCBS and have not received a membership card. I am listed, on the KCBS website, as a CBJ. Can I just print out the KCBS website or do I need to start making an official request of KCBS to send me a membership card?

I sent over a PDF of the prize break down to Ben, hopefully he can post that for me.

As far as the judging form Kristen, I copied and pasted from a sample form someone had provided and missed that part of the form. I don't see that there is a need to be strict about having membership cards to judge.

WOW! I actually wanted to do this comp this year and I just realized that I volunteered to cook for my daughter's school carnival on the same date. :pinch: :sorry:

I am in the process of filling out my application for Que'n for Kids. For the people choice, they ask how many pounds of each meat you will be cooking. I have not done a contest before so I have no clue what to put here. Is this meat for the entire comp or just the PC section? Can someone please give me some guidance. I have 7 WSM's.

Thanks.

Since they are supplying the PC meet, I believe they are asking how much meat you can cook for the PC, not counting your comp meat.
I am sure Kelleigh will chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

Kristen, since you have just rejoined and do not have your card, the proceedure is simple, you will just tell the rep that you have not yet received your card, you will add your name and address to a list to be followed up on at the office so that they can make sure that you do get the card and you may judge.

you will probably receive your card before this event happens though.....

I just noticed that the former Wishland Foundation is now called Kristie's Foundation. Just an FYI for others who weren't aware of the change. Same folks, I assume, doing the same fine work?

I totally forgot that Four Q got a free entry for winning PC. Like finding a forgotten $300 bill in my jacket pocket!
