I know it's the same weekend, but for anyone not going to Viejas and looking for something fun/cheap/local to do, the Southern California Chapter if the International Dutch Oven Society is having their Fall Dutch Oven Convention at Doheny State Park near Dana Point.

Joe Miles and I attended this event last year and had a great time. We ate good, took a free D.O. Class, and a free Sour Dough Bread Making Class. These folks are very much like BBQ folks.

Also, on October 24 --26, The International Dutch Oven Society is having their 2008 National D.O. Roundup in Congress, AZ. This is a huge event with lots of activities.
