While at the CBBQA booth in Huntington Beach, I spoke with a number of people strongly interested in this class. The big draw is Matt Dalton teaching a portion of the class and the location.

For those who didn't notice, the three instructors for the class just took First, Second, and Third overall out of 63 teams with two perfect 180 scores this past weekend in Huntington Beach.

Big Poppa Smokers (Sterling Ball) just revealed on The BBQ Brethren that he will also be teaching at this class...

When you thought the line up of instructors couldn't get any better, they add "royalty" - WOW

I wish they offered more of these classes closer to the Northern Part of CA.. that's a long haul for me.... i'd be very interested if it wasn't so far away.

Are you crazy? This is a once in a life time chance to improve your BBQ skills drastically. I have two GC's this year and am a top 25 team. These guys teaching this class are all world class bbq pitmasters. For what you will learn, don't pass this opportunity up because of a couple of hundred miles to travel. This is going to be a great learning experience.

Only 16 seats left after the first week of registration with another 4 or 5 that should be taken soon. Sign up soon before the class sells out.

Here's the updated flyer to include the newest instructor, Sterling Ball from Big Poppa Smokers

Does anyone know what area of the campground the comp class will be held in ???

Want to get a site fairly close if I can rather than at the other end.

Also, will the class go all through the night like a regular comp cook ??

Thanks

The class will take place 50 yards from the park entrance booth to your immediate left. I will get a map and do some circles and highlights when I go up for my walk thru. The campground is huge and not crowded this time of year.

All,

Due to the KCBS banquet, we have been asked to move the comp class. We have agreed, and changed our facility reservations to January 11th and 12th; official notice is going out as we speak. Refunds will be given to those who cannot attend the new date. Thus far we have had one request for a refund from someone who is coincidentally teaching their own class on the weekend of the 11th, they were also planning on attending the annual KCBS banquet and had not realized the conflict either.

If you need to speak to someone about the conflict, please call me at 805-708-5276.

I apologize for this oversite.

Steph

p.s. Due to us moving to a non holiday weekend, there are two cabins up for grabs now.

Sorry for a bit of a rookie question, but what will the format of the class be? What I mean is will the class be strictly a watch/lecture/Q&A type of instruction, or will there be any opportunities for "hands-on" learning? My wife and I are fairly new to BBQ (but not to cooking), so we would really be looking forward to as intensive a learning experience as possible.

Last, I did a search for the campground and it seemed like there are 3-4 right in the same area. Is there a specific one we can check with for spaces (or those mythical cabins)?

Thanks in advance for any help you all can give!
