Has this event been moved to Rohnert Park?

When I first read Rohnert Park, I wondered if the event might have moved to the new casino grounds. However, Judy's website shows the venue as Sonoma Mountain Village. http://www.sonomamou...enter/index.php

Last year I volunteered as a "Supply And Gear" vehicle for a charity bicycle ride that ended at Sonoma Mountain Village. I recall that the event area is quite nice, though I didn't think about where the water and bathrooms were at the time LOL.

Sorry about the delay in response...
No, we are not at the Casino, but it is close by if you have some money you want to give away!
YES, NO MORE STAIRS!
Possibly no more hot showers, but I am working on that.

More details and specifics should be up on the web site in the next week or two. Thanks for your patience!
Judy

We're mailing our application tomorrow. Is there space left?

Yes, we still have space available. Early registration ends on June 1 - get your application in and save a little cash. I have confirmed boneless leg of lamb being supplied by the American Lamb Board for an open meat category (limted number available, first come first served) and we have an open category Mystery Meat competition from Mariin Sun Farms. Also limited space available. I am sending out a reminder to teams today to get paperwork turned in.

No stairs, no extra health permit fees for sampling, adding a sauce competition and it is in the heart of wine country ... plenty of great wine and beer! Great afternoon public tasting from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday, July 12 with two bands (Aqua Nett - a hair metal band) and Purple Haze (a Jimi Hendrix Tribute band), plus local vendors, wineries, ciders and Lagunitas beer. Please join us for the competition and sample out your extras plus some!

Yes, the list is pretty much up to date - I have a handful on the list that are verbals that I am still waiting for their paperwork and $$. Still working on securing more teams.

We still have a few spots left at this year's Big Q coming up next weekend. And, we have an open category boneless leg of lamb and a Mystery Meat category (hmmm... what could that be... we haven't had pigs feet yet or maybe it should be hot dogs)... and we have added a sauce competition with a "made with Lagunitas" category. Go to www.winecountrybigq.com for all competition info and pertinent details or call me at 707-953-3909

Everything is coming together nicely for this year's Big Q.. The weather is supposed to be perfect - high 70's/low 80's and remember it cools off in the evenings in Sonoma County...

I could use a couple more judges if anyone wants to join us this Saturday. Give me a call, 707-953-3909.

And judges, we're judging indoors in air conditioning (hint, hint). Lol
