Maybe Gimp can open it?
No, we'll need someone with Photoshop. Worst case scenario it's a $10 job on rentacoder. But any banner company should be able to handle that file no matter how old it is.

EPS is Encapsulated Post Script, Adobe's original file format. An EPS file should be able to be opened by anyone with Photoshop or Adobe Creative Suite with no problem. And on an Apple Mac, the newest operating system (Lion, OS 10.7) can usually open an EPS file and convert it to PDF. PDFs can be opened easily by almost anyone.

Gimp can open EPS files you have to use a ghost script found here> http://www.squidoo.c...#module10202503
Gimp is free and very powerful and very kewl. I have been using it for several years and probably use only 10% of its capabilities.

Most companies that make banners want it in a EPS files.

I can change it with photoshop, what type of file do you want?

I want all the old logo files that were used to produce aprons and golf shirts and banners (and anything else I'm unaware of that others might recall).

It seems that the file format is inconsequential, so whatever you have is fine.

Ideally, we'll assemble everything and I'll ask Ben to put it in a private folder on the server so that the site admins will always have access as needed.

I had a banner made that says - Proud member of the California BBQ Association, since I didn't have an official logo was this OK for me to do?
The text "CALIFORNIA BBQ ASSOCIATION" is in a red rectangle, same color as what is above this forum.

I just want to make sure there is not a problem if I display it at a comp. Purpose is to make people aware of the existence of this org.

Would have been cool to have something official, maybe soon something can be made available just like the logos that are readily available as downloads for members of the KCBS on their site.

$50

It is 18" Tall and 10 Feet wide and has my logo at both ends.

sugarhousebanners.com, this was the cheapest place I found. I also bought a 5' x 7' banner there for $80, full color and was able to design it online. Would've cost $200+ at some of the other places I looked at.

I am more than happy to offer anyone advice with their BBQ graphics. I am an expert in the field of print and graphics. An EPS or a high-resolution PDF (with crop marks and bleeds)is the ideal print file. Convert any and all images to CMYK prior to placing or importing into a file. I can send anyone a PDF setting which you can import into your print settings that should be suitable for any print whatsoever. To make files more (size) manageable files should be created at 1/3 to 1/2 the final size at 300dpi.

If you come up with whatever files you want available on the site, please let me know and I will be delighted to convert the images into formats that will work. If you have a question about a file send it along and I can pre-flight it for you.

Have any logo files been made available like the ones that are available for KCBS as Jerry had mentioned above? I'm looking for use on a team banner.

I do have a 1' x 1' CBBQA logo banner, heavy-duty, available to the first person that asks me.

Cheers -

Hi Dana,

Is the CBBQA logo banner still up for grabs? If so, I want it.

Regards,
Chris
