We are getting close to releasing the info for the contest. If you want on the list and didnt cook it last year send me your info at arlieque@comcast.net. I will add you. We are looking at expanding to the parking lot toward the Queen Mary for the additional teams.

If you want to be added to the judging pool please do the same. Thanks and see you soon.

Sorry, I must be tired and saw this as a Mar. contest. I'll be in LB for sure and will start 2013 at Santa Anita unless something else comes up close by.

Had a great time judging last year and I know they had a HUGE crowd so more teams competing would be a great idea.

Judges:

If you would please go to this site to sign up and judge any Arlieque Event Cookoffs.

www.judgebbq.com/Arlieque/

Others will be added as I get the forms available. The West Coast BBQ Classic is up now for judges. This is for judging only.

Instead of downloading a registration form and mailing back to me or emailing back you will now do it all online. This is my site for judges and not shared with anyone. You will be locked in as soon as I turn that on and your registration is dated so the sooner you apply the better. You are locked in by date and if you are a CBJ. You will then be able to check to see if you are locked in which you can then make plans for travel etc. I will be adding other events as they are available and this should make your judging experience better. You will be able to see maps and hotel discounts etc as they are posted. You will also see a judging phone number to call the day of the event if for some reason you are unavailable to make it.

Thank you for judging my events and I will see you soon.

Arlie, glad your now using judgebbq.com I signed up with them last year and I recall a LONG post about the need to automate the CBJ sign up process here in CA as well. If I recall every CBJ said they would sign up if promoters would support the site. Why am I not surprised to see your one of the first promoters to get the ball rolling!

Thanks again for taking the initiative. Now only if we can get ALL the promoters to get on board! FYI looks like you already have 12 CBJ's signed up to judge so the site is doing it's job!

Amazing Arlie. It was like you entered the mind of a judge and knew exactly what he/she wanted. Thank you. Andy does ask a good question. Don't promoters generally give preference to CBJs over non-CBJs. Otherwise, it is first come first serve until you fill up the spots.

For those of you who have judged in Colorado recently, this should look familiar. The Rocky Mtn folks(RMBBQA) call it the Judge Liason Progam (JLP). I was able to use JLP to quickly and easily see what contests were available to sign up for, sign up, see how many judges they think they will need, and see what my position in the signup list. There is a judge's profile feature that you are responsible for maintaining. CBJ?. How many judged? How many judged in the last year? The promotors have the final decision on who, how many, etc. for the actual contest. But this simplifies the judge signup process a lot.

I judged 5 CO contests in 2012, and my experience is that it worked great. The developer has spent a lot of time on this, and I think he has done a wonderful job. It sure beats print the form, fill in, scan and email to promotors.

Im really liking this, great work Arlie hopefully other promoters follow this. Being mainly a cook, I like the fact that promoters have the opportunity to select judges with the most experience.
