Does it make sense to move this to the following weekend since the Smoke on the River is the previous weekend and thus we would not have two KCBS events back-to-back within 30 miles of each other?

I understand Ed is wanting to have the event also be ToY event

The only conflict is an event at Feather Falls Casino on the 20th

Just an FYI, even though the Feather Falls event is a non sanctioned three meat event, it is a Series finals event with a decent prize pool, (Teams are most likely not going to pull out because of previous events points?) if you are looking for maximum team count may want to take that into consideration. There aren't many KCBS comps up here in Nor Cal, So I plan on doing both Smoke on the River and Rubstock ...and look forward to doing a Back to Back! Bring it on!

Personally, I think the last thing we should do is stack events on the same weekend regardless of if it's a different Series. two years ago I did a Saturday 'Smoken for Gold' and on Sunday Scott's 'Draft Horse Cassic' its was pretty crazy but pretty cool at the same time...

But I tell ya...If I don't start bringing home some winnings, My wife is gonna think I started Racing again! LOL Trying to step up my game!

Hello Teams,
Thank you to all teams who have contacted me regarding the status of Rubstock. I sincerely appreciate your support of my events.

Rubstock 2013 was a financial bust so I've been trying to find a new venue willing to work with me to produce the event together, similar to the Elk Grove Western Festival, which was a break even event. Unfortunately I suffered a heart attack at the end of May which slowed my search. The venues contacted, negotiations going on as late as last week, wanted to charge fees that were too high to make the event work financially.

Due to these factors, I must announce the postponement of Rubstock 2014 until I can find a community/festival that I can work with to co-produce the event. This will more than likely push the event to 2015. I apologize to all teams who were counting on this event to offer points for TOY/ROY rankings, those teams who were going to make Rubstock their first competition and to all teams who have supported my events.

Good luck during the remainder of the 2014 competition year.
Ed

Thanks Bill & Zack, all is well now. I had 99% blockage in the "Widow Maker" but a weekend in the hospital and a stent later I'm good to go. Quite the wakeup call considering I had no symptoms until I was on all fours whimpering Uncle and any other magical word I could think of to make it stop. This is why they call it the silent killer. Eating better, exercising a little but cannot figure out, like a few billion people on earth, how not to push the stress button.
