I am looking to borrow/rent a smoker for the first couple of days in May, 2014. I am making the 1,200 mile trek up there for my dads 92nd birthday. I plan to cook some brisket and ribs for about 30 or so (I've been promising him since his 90th). I was thinking of buying a 55 gal drum to make a UDS, but am not sure that would be time best spent while I am there. If anyone has or knows of anyone around there, please let me know. I would appreciate it.

Bill

Thanks. I appreciate everyone's help on this. Thankfully JD has decided to loan his UDS or WSM to someone he does not know (me. I am a fellow Seahawk fan though). It is great to have a network of fellow BBQ enthusiasts to pick from.

A Big thank you to "Artic Fox" in Custer, WA, for loaning his WSM, BBQ Guru, accessories to someone he did not even know. I cooked for about 70-80 people for my dads 92nd birthday in Bellingham (no Andy, no body got sick). Thanks to JD for initially offering up his equipment as well. It is nice to have people that are willing to help each other out.

Gotta love the BBQ family taking care of each other!

Glad nobody got sick, did you bring me home a plate?
