Had a great time judging several categories last year over 4 days and Anna and I are set to judge a few more this year over 4 days. Anyone cooking or judging this event?

Last year was a good turn out, but could have been better. Now that it's in it's second year the turnout should be even better.

I heard Fish say he was going to be out there, not sure what he's doing though.

I recall walking through the tents after judging while they where selling BBQ last year and seeing almost no one at the event. I think the location was the biggest complaint for teams vending.

They sent me an email to judge so we might go. Funny, they put me on the bacon and chili list. I don't know much (other than I like bacon and chili) about judging those categories. Hmmmm...

I was chosen to judge hamburgers and chili. This is my first time going and really hoping to have a great time.

I decided not to judge again this year. I few reasons why. Last year that had some great parties later in the evening that included drinks and a buffet. We got to hang out for a few hours get drunk sample food and meet some great cooks and chefs. This year for some reason they cancelled both of the parties and decided to have a dessert fest and a bacon fest. Neither of which include drinks!!

Apparently there is a mandatory meeting Wed night that you have to attend even if you're not judging until Thursday or Friday. Last year I got to judge 4 different categories and this year I'm only judging 2. Decided to judge the smoke on the water event instead.

I've decided not to attend either. First of all, I'm not very excited to judge chili and bacon and not be able to judge bbq. Secondly, Vegas isn't my favorite place. There doesn't seem other activities associated with the event to hold my attention. I was hoping they'd add some demos and stuff, but nothing seems to excite me. Maybe next year.
